Welcome to ACT Sunday Social CricketYou can also follow us at:https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/ACTSSCA/ The ACT Sunday Social Cricket Association has organised social cricket in Canberra, and in the region immediately surrounding the Australian Capital Territory, for almost 40 years. The competition caters for different skill levels and games are played in a social atmosphere. The official rules of cricket apply with only minor modifications for safety and to fit the social spirit (i.e. no bouncers!). Games are played second Sunday afternoons from early October to early March using a 40 over limited overs format. Games are not scheduled over Christmas-New Year. Many teams are organised by work colleagues or by social and community groups and clubs. Football teams often play in the competition to maintain contact during the off season. The Association is non-profit and costs are very reasonable. The competition starts the second weekend in October. Nomination forms are available under the Forms pull down menu at the top of this home page. If you are a current team just fill in the nomination form. If you are a new team fill in the nomination form and sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the "Application for membership of the ACT Sunday Social Cricket Association" form. Completed nomination forms and full payment must be sent to the address on the form by 31 August 2012 or paid at the Annual General Meeting 7.30pm 31 August 2012, Whitlam Room, Belconnen Labor Club. |
